Embeds
,embed builds, saves and posts embeds with a live preview. You can drive it entirely with buttons (,embed create) or paste a script straight into it (,embed create {embed }{title: Hello }).
The embed designer is the same format with a form: fill it in, watch the message render, then copy the script it produces. Use it when you want to see exactly what a script will post before it lands in a channel.
Too long to read?
- A script is a flat sequence of
{key: value }blocks. {embed }marks the message as an embed.author,footerandfieldholdkey: valuepairs joined by&&.\nis a newline inside a value.#rrggbbis a colour.- Paste the script after
,embed create, or save it with,embed save <name> <script>.
Structure of an embed
A script is read left to right. Content outside the embed is a normal message; everything after {embed } becomes the embed itself.
{content: Rules update }{embed }{color: #8b5cf6 }{title: Server rules }{description: Be kind. No spam. }{field: name: 1. Respect && value: Treat everyone well && inline: false }{footer: text: Updated today }
Here are the following symbols the parser understands:
:separates the parameter name from its value&&is used to add multiple values to a parameter}ends the parameter\nsplits lines inside a value
Parameters available in embeds
| Parameter | What it does |

The stripe colour, as #rrggbb. |

The embed title, up to 256 characters. |
description |
The body, up to 4096 characters. Markdown works. |
url |
Makes the title a link. |

name and icon (a URL), joined by &&. |

A small image in the top right corner. |

A large image under the description. |

One field: name, value and inline (true/false). Up to 25. |
footer |
text and icon (a URL), joined by &&. |

Fields
Each {field: ... } block is one row. inline: true puts fields next to each other; inline: false gives each one its own row.
{field: name: Rule 1 && value: Be kind && inline: true }{field: name: Rule 2 && value: No spam && inline: true }
Using variables in embeds
Variables are replaced when the embed is posted, so a welcome embed can greet each member by name.
{content: Welcome {user} }{embed }{description: You are member **#{membercount}** of **{server}**. }{color: #8b5cf6 }
The full token list is on Variables. A variable that cannot be resolved is left as written, so a typo is visible rather than silently blank.
